Winemaking

Portofino’s quality fresh grapes and juices are consistently used in the production of award-worthy wines at U-Vins and wineries across North America. U-Vins offer Portofino’s variety of grapes and juices to their enthusiastic winemaking customers looking to create small-batch wines of superior taste and quality.

The skilled vintners of celebrated wineries choose Portofino winemaking products for the production of exceptional commercial wines. Our grapes and juices come from vineyards in Chile, Italy, Argentina, and California where old world traditions are infused with innovative viticulture, guaranteeing the best quality grape. Listed below are just two of our many prized vineyards.

Santa Ines | Maipo Valley, Chile

The Santa Ines vineyard is located in the heart of the Maipo Valley, 60 km from both the Pacific Ocean and Santiago. Founded in 1934, the estate is now run by third and fourth generations of the De Martino family under strict organic conditions. No fertilizers are used and a natural ecosystem is used to prevent disease that could affect the vineyard.

Colle D'Oro | Ispica, Sicily, Italy

The family of Don Pietro Calabrese planted this 88-acre vineyard in 2003 in an area dedicated exclusively to DOC wines – Denominazione di Origine Controllata – a term referring to wines produced in well-defined regions according to specific rules that preserve the traditional grape growing and winemaking practices of that region.

Food Products

Consistent with the quality of our grapes and juices, our food products are also sourced from renowned suppliers across the globe, guaranteeing superior olive oils, balsamic vinegars and cooking wines to food producers and distributors.

Food producers select Portofino oils, vinegars and cooking wines for use in the creation of their gourmet food products. They can depend on our commitment to quality for a superior end-product sold under their own private label.

Food distributors sell our products under our label or their own to restaurants across North America that need of the highest quality ingredients without the hassle of self-production. Our reduced balsamic vinaigrette upholds the quality of a traditional balsamic reduction typically prepared and used by top restaurants, but saves significantly in time and cost.

Reduction = Savings
How? Our Portofino Balsamic Reduction is ready for use immediately when poured. It is perfectly suited for all types of busy restaurants and food servers. The quality, texture and taste are indistinguishable from a self-prepared balsamic reduction. This saves time, product, and even the odd burned pan. Have your cooking customer try it once. As soon as a chef uses it, they will wonder why they wasted their time standing over a pan stirring their own balsamic reduction.
